Welcome to the North!

Although this is not a normal occurance... I say Welcome to the North!

This crazy MOOSE was wandering around our community
and seemed lost and a bit slow in his commute... to work?...coming home off night shifts?.. possibly!?

Randy was out scraping the car windows when a truck pulled up on the road and the driver shouted to Randy ... if he had seen the moose that just walked by him.
Randy had been so busy he had missed this odd occurance... the moose turned the corner between houses and began to walk through the back area behind our yard, so Randy hurried in to tell me to get to the window to see this huge animal!
I am so glad i found the camera...
it makes me laugh that I live this far north,
because it doesn't really seem that different..
but moments like these speak volumes about the reality.

Christmas together with Family.... What a JOY!

Well this is really amazing... the blessings of Christmas landed among us... we celebrated this wonderful event of Christmas with our families, and delighted in the simple things that we can be to eachother. As you can see the blessing I am speaking of is our bird... Maggie.


She just loves to laugh and jump...
poop and land on peoples heads.... and of course cuddle.
So Nana was the target and she was only
one of the many landing spots that Maggie nestled into that evening.

We were delighted to see eachother again.
All the family gathered in Calgary for Christmas Day.

Then when we went to Edmonton where we also were so glad to spend time with family.



Celebrations of this type are so precious to us.
It is a real treat to laugh with those
who have known you so long,


and to share life as it has been a while since you sat
and talked over a coffee, or eggnog.
We are really grateful for our families.

These photos were actually to celebrate my Birthday,
and one very vital person was unable to make it...
the new groom in our family. Chris, Shannon's hubby.
Sorry I don't seem to have any pictures of all of us at Christmas.

This is the only child in the family currently.
She is so precious and was a blast to enjoy Christmas with this year.

Generous Blessings Poured Out!
As I mentioned in the previous post, our prayer group met for our Christmas gathering, and I asked if the ladies would mind bringing some toiletries for this local women's shelter that we know of. What I am so blessed to tell you is that there was so much love and generosity poured out in that giving opportunity, and I am so honored to have been able to put the immense amount of things together for the shelter. I just wanted to take a moment to thank you all for being generous in heart, and for caring for those around you. God is so honored by your love.


The Nativity! (The Movie)
Well if you haven't yet seen it, I would recommend that you do. We saw it last night and were really impressed with it. I hope you will have a chance to take it in over the holidays, it will really help bring the Christmas season to life, and into focus.


Well, Merry Christmas all. May your homes be full of love and laughter, and may your know in a deeper way, the immense sacrifice and truely amazing Gift that God has given us in Christ. And may your Christmas celebrations reflect that.

Prayer Group (PLOW) Christmas Gathering... What fun!

So many wonderful ladies have come to our prayer group on Wednesdays. It all began in April, and has been such a success!

This past Wednesday, we celebrated together with a Christmas gathering at a hosting home. It was such a nice change and so many of the ladies were able to make it, causing the group to seem so huge! We had a great time togther, lots of laughter, and hugs were shared, and many times of sharing and prayer. Thanks to these women, the journey of life, is alot more adventurous and fun!

You are all treasures, and I am so grateful to be among you!

I wish you a merry Christmas...

Can you believe it is only a few short days until Christmas? I am absolutely in awe. There is no part of my life that has flown as fast as these past few years. I can't seem to figure out where the time goes!

This Christmas will be a fun time together with family. We are looking forward to seeing how much our neice Chloe has grown, and enjoy that we are having Christmas with the first of the Grandchildren in the family... It will be so fun to catch up with everyone. We look forward to lots of laughter and warm hugs!

To be sure there is nothing more amazing than what will happen at the Burtis side of the family...Randy and I are so happy to celebrate his cousin's Mitch's first Christmas as well, as he accepted Christ as his Savior this year. What an amazing gift this is to our lives. When so many have prayed for him for so many many years. Praise the Lord.

So with that I wish you the warmest and most love filled Christmas this year. It is my prayer that you will be able to celebrate the real reason for the season, and that Christ will be the center of your year to come.
